How to put on Falsies for Newbies!

I didn't have anything to do that night, so I decided to give my forsaken falsies I bought half a year ago, a try as my 1st attempt putting them on failed miserably. I was devastated! So, I tried googling, youtubing, facebooking, socializing and in the end I found out where was the mistake!

Did you know that (those who are not newbies please ignore this question) you have to cut them to fit to your eyes? So that it isn't so pokey? Yes! That's it :D That was the only problem that prevented me from putting on a nice pair of natural falsies and had me in the dark about how these things can magically turn your eyes into the most beautiful thing in the world!

Trust me, putting on fake eyelashes really make a whole ton of difference to your set of eyes.

So, gathering information from various sources made my 2nd attempt a pretty successful one. Neh!

falsies-1

So to all the newbies out there..here are the things you need to know.

1) You will need the glue (obviously), the eyelashes, the mascara and the eye liner.
2) Before you do anything else, place both eyelashes onto eyelids, as close as possible to your real lashes. Make sure you don't put your eyelashes all the way into the corner of your eyes. Give it 1cm (really depending on your eyes) and then snip of the end of the fake eyelash according to the end of your eyes.
3) Then, do the same for the other side.
4) Put on your eye liner and mascara.
5) Take the glue and swipe some onto where you are suppose to on the fake eyelashes. Wait a second or two until the glue turns transparent-ish. In the beginning it's milky in colour.
6) Then let it fall on top of your real lashes, gently.
7) Use your fingers to stick them as close as possible to your eyelids and blink rapidly until you think that it is settled at the right place. Make sure it isn't pokey because that was how I felt initially during my 1st attempt.
8) If everything feels absolutely normal. Like you've no fake eyelashes on AT ALL, then you've done everything right! Congrats! :)

Just make sure that they dont fall off half way. LOL

Artistic Designs by Case-mate

I was first introduced to Case-mate by one of my friends on Facebook. Initially it was recommended to me for tattoo designs because I am planning to get a tattoo on my back but have no idea what design I would want permanently inked into my skin. I wanted something meaningful, and not just some symbolic stuff that doesn't mean shit.

Anyway, I clicked on the link given to me to Case-mate's website and I was blown away! By far, they have the nicest designs for the iPhone 3Gs casing that I've ever come across and I fell in love with the middle one that I've marked.

Each and every casing is personally designed by an artist and good stuff like these are obviously not from Malaysia. Actually, I have no idea where they are from because their address stated, GA as their last sign off so..where on earth is GA? I am determine to track them down and get one of their casing for my Tuktuk *that is what I am going to call my iPhone from now on.

Besides getting cases like these which are designed by other people, you can customize your own casing as well which is pretty cool! If you are an artsy person who owns an iPhone 3Gs, I would suggest that you take a peek at what they have to offer. Good news is, they have casings for iPhone 4g too! Pity Malaysia is so far behind.

Sunway Wildlife Interactive Zoo @ Sunway Lagoon

I stumbled across this post from one of my many blogs, and I thought to put it here to share as I know that not many people realized the drastic change of Sunway Lagoon since years ago. While I am at it, I'll probably edit the article a little bit more. This article was dated 18th December 2008.

As the main coordinator for The Malaysian Childcare and Education Guide, a yearly childcare guide I am handling for my company, I had to go to some of the places of interest around Klang Valley for a short review write up and below, will be the write up for a petting zoo that I visited at Sunway Lagoon, Sunway Wildlife Interactive Zoo.

DSC00550

Situated in the heart of Sunway, the Sunway Wildlife Interactive Zoo is the one of the only fully interactive animal themed attractions in Malaysia. Over 90 species of tame animals ranging from Black Panthers, Pythons, Squirrel Monkeys, and even Wallabies call this shaded sanctuary a home.

Be greeted by some very tame parrots and cockatoos that enjoy being close to humans. Next, get up close and personal with some pretty intimidating reptiles, well secured in their individual cages. Amongst them look out for a snake which has comfortably adapted itself to being pet by humans. The reptile section lets children learn to understand the habits of creatures they would usually be afraid of.

DSC00612
DSC00618

The highlight of the zoo is its family of Squirrel Monkeys!
These furry friends absolutely adore the attention they get from humans. It’s not often you get to interact with monkeys, hence children and adults will definitely love this experience.

DSC00614

Another interesting part of the zoo is the feeding area where peacocks, tortoises, rabbits and even skunks roam around waiting to be fed with food provided by the zoo. The skunks are even friendly enough to be carried without having to worry about their tendencies to emit foul odour! This whole section has a very “kampung” ambience and is reasonably well shaded from the harsh sun so children can fully enjoy the experience.

DSC00584
This is one of the skunk at the zoo. Her name is Lola :D

DSC00575

Last but definitely not least entertaining, is the bird park. This free flight aviary gives visitors the chance to literally walk with birds. Watch as parrots paint the scene with their colours, and even walk with peacocks as they stroll along the pathways of the aviary. As with the other animals in the zoo, these birds have also adapted to being around humans so you can really observe closely as they go on living their lives.

DSC00619

As with all zoos the Sunway Wildlife Interactive Zoo, is a place for the family to get together and get close to nature’s amazing wildlife. The zoo’s educational value is truly second to none, whiles being an extremely fun experience for adults and children at the same time. .

My First Topshop Skirt!

I know! What a major surprise, right? A fashion lover & shopping maniac like me does not have any Topshop apparels right? I know, I am terrible. I tend not to splurge on anything branded because I do not care about brands. Ask me if I have anything tagged onto Miss Selfridge, or Dorothy Perkins or even Zara! I don't. The most branded item I have right now is, my Roxy purse. That's about it.

Last Sunday, marked the day of owning my very first Topshop skirt! I was beaming like a little kid with her lollipop when I walked out from the shop. I can forgo the cropped tank top, I can forgo the little cute knickers but I can absolutely not forgo something to do with panels because I am literally obsessed with them. Panels are my love for skirts now.

I picked a few items off the shelves, ... wait a minute, did I mention.. that Topshop is having sale right now? Like major sale? 70% sale? Well, obviously it's not like the whole store but still, it's something right? Anyway, back to what I was saying. Yes, I took a few stuff off the shelves. Majority cropped tops as I have a thing for cropped tops too but when it comes to the real deal, I cannot not buy the panel skirt I tried on.

Being the non-brand conscious person, I was hesitant. It was tagged RM133 and there wasn't any discount for it, so ... baby paid RM50 for me and all I had to do was fork out RM83! *I think it was because we were standing at that one place for so long, with me contemplating whether to buy or not that he didn't want to wait anymore and offered to pay some for me. AHAHAHAHAAH. ok nola, I know it's because he loves me :D

So tada!! My first Topshop Panel Denim Skirt :D major love love.

The Review of Despicable Me

Last Saturday, we caught Despicable me at GSC Midvalley and it was a pretty good show. Almost everyone that has caught the show mentioned that it is one of the best cartoons shown so far and these claims are totally true! The show is good.

Despicable Me is a 2010 American computer-animated 3-D feature film from Universal Studios and Illumination Entertainment that was released on July 9, 2010 in the United States with considerable critical and financial success. The film stars Steve Carell, Jason Segel, Russell Brand, Julie Andrews, Will Arnett, Kristen Wiig, and Miranda Cosgrove.

The story is of a supervillain named Gru who plans to use three orphan girls as pawns for a grand scheme, only to find that their innocent love is profoundly changing him.

What I love about the movie is how they've characterized Gru as a mean person. With his pointy witch nose and huge Frankenstein upper body made him looked pretty evil but as he started adopting these 3 little orphan girls, to initially make them help him steal a device from his arch enemy by selling cookies, he started realizing the love he has for these 3 girls and his good side started to show and in reality, he is an actual softie at heart.

Not to forget, the Minions. Minions are these little yellow potato like creatures working for Dr Gru. They are absolutely adorable and I can see why people tend to be obsessed with the Minions *some of my facebook friends are talking about adopting Minions..

despicable_me_wallpaper_11

This show actually topped the US chart at No.1 followed by Eclipse! Who on earth thought that there's any movie which will top Eclipse at the charts when they are supported by millions of crazy fans all around the world and Despicable Me is just a 3D cartoon?

You will be guaranteed : laughing at most parts of the show, heart melting moments which involves the 3 girls, and reaching-out-to-pinch the minions when they laugh.

Pigeons Doo doo

News of the day :

"Kings of Leon's concert was canceled last minute because apparently, there were alot of pigeons around the area. The concert was held at an open air park, and there were alot of pigeons hiding underneath the stage area resulting to having pigeons doo doo all over the stage area. Therefore, because of these pigeons doo doo, the concert was canceled. Can you believe it?"

This morning, when I heard this on hitz.fm, it really made me smile. Seriously, there are all kinda things happening in this world but this, kinda surprised me and actually made my morning less gloomy. Those poor people who bought the tickets to watch Kings of Leon live must be like, WTF! I know I would to, if I was told that I am not going to catch them live just because these people happened to set up their stage around pigeons and ended up getting doo doos all over their place. Talk about weird.

The other day, I heard this on radio and I so love it. It's by Pixie Lott.

Maggot is going to the Land Down Under!!

OMG, I can hardly contain my excitement! Yes, I am going to Perth in October! What a cool birthday present for me! Well actually it isn't a birthday present but my cousin is getting married and my dad offered to pay the plane tix for me, so, Here I come! *not in another 2.5months

I will be there for exactly a week, no more than that because cant really take more than a week off although I would love to stay there forever and enjoy Spring. For the second time in my life, I'll get to enjoy Spring, *cant really remember the first because it was when I was 10 and in London.. when flowers bloom and birds sing .. OK, maybe not but it'll be such a great experience for me because I have so many things I wanna see. For instance, Kangaroos and Koalas!! I've always wanted to see, touch and feed them. In Australia, they let the Kangaroos out in the open, of course within zoo compound and visitors are allowed to go into this wide compound area to mingle with the Kangaroos! How cool is that!

kangaroo

Another thing that I wanna do is to have one relaxing evening at their Kings Park, lying on the grass looking up at the sky. I've always been so amazed at photos taken from all around the world that people can actually sit on the grass, lie down and just .... well just sprawl across the whole thing and know that it is clean! Cant really do that in Malaysia. I heard that Kings Park is one of the best park they have and the view is spectacular. There are ducks and geese swimming around the lake and you can feed them.

7310828

Anyways, nothing has been confirmed yet! I'm checking on the air fare and taking down places to visit but I'll definitely blog about Perth, definitely! It is just too much not to even think about it.

So, Australia..get ready for me! For the entire week that I'll be there, Ill be throwing myself at you in an extremely humongous tight hug!

MAC World Computer Promotion by Machines @ Midvalley

This morning's Facebook status once I got into office :

"calling all iPhone fanatics, there's an exhibition on all MAC products in Midvalley lower ground (or is it ground?) floor!! went there yesterday and they are selling so so many iPhone casing and accessories + iPhone 4 accessories as well + ipad ones too! (so colourful OK! and they are selling them cheaper (20-50% discount!). some are limited edition stuff so go take a look! ♥"

You usually wont find me blogging about gadgets so much but I haven't been able to put down my phone lately. I am obsessed! *so is someone else but i don't wanna say whooo :P

During my journey home after work yesterday, I was all excited when I heard that there is a MAC exhibition going on in Midvalley on radio! So I knew I had to check it out.

Stupid maggot didn't think to take any pictures of the event but imagine this, rows and rows of iPhone casing, iPhone quirky stuff and I saw this really tempting set of iphone 3gs casing in 5 metallic colours all for RM99! *think changing the case daily! It was written on the box, Your Daily Fashion Accessory.. then there are tonz of limited edition casings, ipad casings, ipad keyboard pads in multiple frosty translucent colours *so cute OK!, adapters and stuff! can't list them all here or else it'll never end.

iphone-3g-silicone-case

So anyway, if you are looking for MAC products at this moment at a fairly reasonable price, you might find yours in this event because some of the products are on sale. The original price that I saw on one of the casing was RM100++ but it went down to about RM40. Not all are that dirt cheap OK but it doesn't really hurt to check it out. Some are extremely worth it! There are booths set up by different companies as well, selling MAC accessories. I've gotta say that the promoters there are really friendly, except for one Malay lady. She really didn't give a damn about me wanting to try an iPhone casing so I moved on. Their lost.

iskin-solo-fx-iphone-case

This event will be held until end of this week, so check it out if you've not. I was so tempted to buy this casing which looked like droplets of water all over the casing in metallic ocean blue but didn't have the heart to spend anymore than I have already. Remember? I said I'm trying to cut down on my shopping. I've been good OK! I only bought 2 maxi dresses so far. Excluding the number of my own clothes that I kept for myself...that doesn't count!!

Question: Did you know that there is such thing as a finger holder, neck strap, wrist strap for the iphone so that you can actually finger it, hang it around your neck or dangle it around your wrist?!

Answer: I didnt know but now I do, thanks to this event. Praise the maker!

One, FOR ALL!

This blog is undergoing minor changes day by day. I am trying to makeover this blog into the perfect blogger's blog! *does that make any sense to you?

I came to realise that, I've been blogging since I first started working, as that was when I got to use a computer with Internet! and have been blogging non stop since then, till today which marks me blogging for 5years plus, which is aboutt ..*taptap calculator..1,826days...*taptaptap...43,824hours..*taptap..2,629,440mins! and of course I've included 1 leap year as well.

Type__type__type__type__by_JPOG

So throughout the entire 2,629,440mins of my life, I have more than 1 blog. I kept changing because I didnt like the name, didnt like the publicity, wanted privacy, wanted to blog about fashion, hence I didnt stay true to any 1 of them. It was just recently that I realised what I had to do and what I should do. Which is to create one, for all! So, what I am going to do now is to compile everything *excluding the emo ones I want to keep from my blogging past and present from all of my old blogs, and put them all into this blog which will be publicly open to the public, sooner or later once I'm ready. I still dont quite like the idea of strangers reading my blog but I have posts from other blogs which I wrote to share with everybody and I would like to be able to do that here as well, so I guess I cant have everything my way, it's either one or the other.

During Dimple Maggot's surgery period, dont be surprise if you come across a newly dated post but of old stories. I might just date it accordingly but just in case...ok now! Back to work!!

Yellow Cab Pizza @ Ampang

It was a choice between JUICE anniversary at MOS and dinner with Tezt at Yellow Cab Pizza located behind Ampang Point last Friday. Obvious to the title, the latter happened. I was pretty amazed at their New York concept. Very cute and funky. Upon arrival I saw a few bikes painted with New York Yellow Cab concept in classic yellow and black parked in front of their outlet, and being me, I snapped a few photos of using my iphone. *so sad they turned out not quite up to standard

To my surprise, They actually have another outlet at Bukit Bintang. I've totally not heard of them in my life. I really like how they've designed their outlet. So back alley-ish New York cafe. Pipes here and there, brick walls with panorama pictures of New York city.

Their menu of pizza choices is actually painted on their wall in front of their counter. Pizzas are available in 3 different sizes ranging from 10", 14" and 18" *i know! bigger than my car rims even :S

yellowcabpizza-4

We tried 3 of their pizzas which were Manhattan (pepperoni with ham) , New York (pepperoni, ham, bacon!, onion, capsicum, herbs & spices in between) and Shrimp & Garlic (shrimp, garlic, onion, garlic, garlic, ..).

yellowcabpizza-1

yellowcabpizza-2
Shrimp & Garlic

They are all actually very delicious. So different from our normal Dominos and Pizza Huts. My favourite will be the Manhattan followed by Shrimp & Garlic. I didnt really like New York because of the Indian herb that they used. Some sort of the wood-like herb usually found in curries.

Total bill was MYR90 plus. A little bit more pricey than Dominos but if I were to choose, I'd still stick by Dominos because of their Puff Crust Pizza and their awesome Classified Chicken *must try!!

No More Blackheads!

Well, there is absolutely NO SUCH THING. No matter how expensive, how deep researches research, we, human beings can never ever absolutely never avoid blackheads and that is that!

I've been changing so many face wash over the past years, I've actually lost count of those that I've used before. Nivea, Garnier, Michelle Lazar's, Eversoft, Ginvera, Johnsons & Johnsons...and they all worked fine to me. The main target for face wash is usually dirt anyway, so we are extremely prone to blackheads whether we like it or not. No face wash can actually seep in deep enough into your pores to force the yellow biji out. So, face reality already.

Yesterday I stroll into Guardian to get a new face wash and I came across Neutrogena's newest product, Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Face Wash Set. I turned the bottles over to read what they can do *duh! blackhead eliminator and automatically went, yeahh right! but I gave them both a shot anyways because I've been a fan of Neutrogena since I last try them ages ago and gotten myself the face wash which has micro beads to scrub deeper into pores for thorough cleanse accompanied by the toner.

Neutrogena Blackhead Face Wash

After using the face wash, I've gotta say that it is actually a nice change from my last one which was Garnier Hydrating Cleanser. After the wash, my face actually felt real clean, like squeak clean without the usual super dry plus left over flakes. It was supple smooth and bouncy. *Yes, I poke my own face sometimes.

The Toner! Ahhh....my whole life, I have never used toner. I know it is essential but I never got to getting myself one because I actually do not see the need to have a toner. Everyone knows that toner helps to cleanse further after the face wash and also to hydrate the skin a little with added help to minimize pores.

Im quite a lazy person to be honest. I have 5 packets of mask I bought a few months back and they are still lying flat on my rack, untouched. So yes, that was the reason why I dont own any toner before because I know that I will not use it.

Neutrogena Blackhead Face Toner

So why is this one so special? Because when I read the back label of the bottle, as usual it states : Use the complete range of this product to see better results. Therefore, I bought it. That simple. It worked actually! My first attempt using this two was really good. My face actually felt clean and smooth. Even the fiance commented on my skin, "How come so smooth wan?!".

So there you go, Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Face Wash Set is indeed Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Face Wash Set. :D
