I feel Xmasy :D

With Christmas around the corner, shopping malls playing christmasy songs, I can't contain my excitement, for the feast on Christmas Eve and the laughter of joy on Christmas Day itself!

Speaking of Christmas, shopping for the bunch isn't done yet. Let alone started.

I did a Christmas banner for Clothes For Fun today and am so proud of myself because I found it to be so cute and warm! Especially love the little presents and Christmas trees :D

cff print screen

Baby did a poem for Clothes For Fun's Christmas greeting and I had it put on the side panel. I am one proud baby of his :D or you can say, vice versa as well!

Chestnuts are roasting on open fires,
As children start wishing for all their desires.
The tables are spread with fine food and wine,
While families gather for a jolly good time.

...So raise your glasses high up above,
Make a toast to joy, goodwill and love.
That special time of the year, has already begun,
A very Merry Christmas to you, from CLOTHES FOR FUN !!!

BACK! with love ~

Yep! I am back!

I know you may be skeptical once again that I may just disappear but I am back for good this time!

The last I blogged was of my birthday celebration at Jogoya and I still crave for another feast at that place. Let's see what happened after that.

- went to Berjaya Hills for JPM CIMB Preferred Time Challenge '10 for 3days 2night stay. It was a short break that I needed before I start my new job (no idea how much I needed it until I actually started my new job)

- started my new job and I had NO TIME at all to do anything else in the world because I was working almost everyday and when I was placed on morning shift which ends at 6.30pm, fought the jam all the way back, I barely have anything left in me to so much as tweet and when I am placed on noon shift (which was worse) which ends at 10pm, faught the jam in the parking lot to the main road and all the way back, I was dead to the world. It went on for 12days and then ..

- quit my job. enough was enough. did not sign up for that.

- started Clothes For Fun & Shoes For Fun again. This time, I am doing it Full-Time!

I have never felt better actually! When people ask me and they find out that I quit a stable income job to do an online business, they freak! I mean, I freaked too before I actually considered doing it full-time because there are so many "what ifs" involved but after talking to people that mattered to me, with their support and love, I went for it. No business is 100% risk-free. Everybody who owns a business can tell you that they took the risk, believe in what they are selling, make a few good and bad choices, and either make it or don't. Well, I am confident enough that Clothes For Fun & Shoes For Fun will make it because I love what I do and when I love what I do, it doesn't feel like work at all. In fact I treat it as my own little playground where I pour my love, my hard work, my creativity in it. My little 3 years old baby :D

Anyways, spreading the love.. here are some updates that I've posted today!

Speaking of the big Twenty Four, baby brought me to Jogoya at Starhill on my birthday for dinner and it was the best ever buffet dinner I have EVER had! Seriously, I have not experienced such fun just eating non stop for 2 hours and ... a little bit more.

Wake me up when October ends. .

And so...I forsee that I wont be able to blog (maybe once or twice) or Facebook or Tweet anymore starting from November onwards because I will be extremely busy! Note that when I say extremely busy, means EXTREMELY busy! I have a full working schedule throughout November and most of the time I will need to work during weekends and public holidays until 10pm.

Therefore, I am bracing myself to be prepared mentally and physically for November! Bring on the rain!

The Review of The Other Guys

The Other Guys-1

"The Other Guys is a 2010 comedy film directed and co-written by Adam McKay, starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, and featuring Dwayne Johnson, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Keaton, Eva Mendes, Steve Coogan, and Ray Stevenson." - taken from Wikipedia

I know it doesnt say much about the movie but this movie - A MUST WATCH MOVIE! At first I blew this movie off because I didn't like the idea of Mark Wahlberg to be in a comedy. Moreover, Will Ferrell's comedies are pretty much brainless but funny. I thought it would probably down grade Mark Wahlberg as one of the A-list action actor.

The Other Guys-3

It is a story of these two detectives, Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell) and Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg). They were the most over shadowed officers in their department and most of the officers have no respect for them. When Detectives Danson (Dwayne Johnson) and Highsmith (Samuel L. Jackson), who were both heroes of the law enforcement team "accidentally died" during a pursue, the opportunity to outshine others was placed right in front of Terry Hoitz and Allen Gamble. Continue watching for the full story because that is all I will spill!

What I love about this movie is that not only it is hilarious, it was actually acted out in a serious manner which made it even funnier! Mark Wahlberg shown another side of him in this show which I've never seen before and trust me, he actually made me laugh and for the first time Will Ferrell put on a straight face while acting in a comedy This is not some stupid comedy movie, although there were some scenes which made me go WHAT THE..but it was actually so stupidly funny that it made sense! I know you don't get me but you'll have to watch to know. Besides, Michael Keaton's quoting lyrics without realising it was hilarious! Again, you'll have to watch to get what I am saying.

The Other Guys-2

What I didnt like about the movie was how they made Mark Wahlberg a little bit weird in character. I mean he was like the loser of the detectives. Something a fan of his might not love watching.

What to expect? An out of the ordinary comedy :D

Weddings and such

I remember my first day at Proof Design Sdn Bhd. All hyped up, ready to take on the world. I've always had passion for art. Anything to do with art, such as creative designs, paintings, handmade cards, colouring and such. I used to hand make cards all the time for my mom and my friends when I was at primary school till secondary school. I still do occasionally during college years but no longer after that as I didn't have much free time once I started work.

Did you know that I wanted to major in Interior Design last time? Well, that was before I found my love for fashion.

Proof-2

Proof Design Sdn Bhd is a design house specializing in creative design for all creative materials. From corporate annual reports to magazines and publications to wedding cards and stationeries. Just recently Proof is more focused on creative wedding materials. Wedding invitations, little name tags for guests, custom made menus, handmade ribbons and so much more.

I just wanted to share with you what I do sometimes in the office. Sometimes, I tie little ribbons to paste them onto wedding invites, sometimes I hand make cards by putting together bits and pieces of stick ons, finishing media gift bags with a little tag, and so many more I just can't seem to remember.

Proof-1

I love doing it, although it might be quite tiring as tying 250 ribbons isn't easy, especially if they are so tiny! Besides being creative and all, I care for day to day duties and make sure that the company runs smoothly. Being in this company taught me so many things that I can bring over to my next job. Yes, of course there are so much more to learn from scratch when I start my new one but things like how to handle urgent matters and solving problems fast will be good to bring with me as they will definitely apply.

Well, speaking of weddings earlier, if you ever need someone to design your wedding invite and stationeries, you can always contact Proof Design Sdn Bhd. Although I will no longer be there, Proof is the first company I've ever cared for working with and I would still love to see it grow :)

Website is still under construction, there will be exclusive ready made wedding invites that can be ordered via online and have them mailed to you within a timeline. All these are still being put together but I'll be sure to inform you as good stuff like these are made to share!

SEED Cafe @ Midvalley

I've not given any thoughts to giving SEED Café a try until I was right in front of it yesterday trying to look for lunch. I wanted to try Brotzeit but it was clearly too expensive for lunch and they did not have any burgers, nor pigs in a blanket.

A friend once told me that SEED Café is famous for their Tom Yum noodle and seeing that I've not tried the restaurant yet, might as well since I was already right in front of it.

Seed Café, is chic personified. The restaurant's concept adapts a contemporary and simple outlook. The design and decoration gels in with Seed’s youthful and trendy image. Seed café would be an ideal place for friends, family or even colleagues to gather for a delicious meal.

Their menu consists of a wide range of Western & Asian cuisine. Much more than I would have expected to see and they are very unique as well. It was so tempting for me to order their Tom Yum noodles but I wasn't really in the mood to get my stomach all spiced up as it was my first meal of the day so I had either the Cajun Chicken Chop, Nasi Lemak or the Fried Green Curry rice with Roasted Chicken to choose from.

SEED Cafe-1

I finally opt for their Nasi Lemak, as it looked really good in the menu and I wasn't disappointed at all when my food came. It tasted good. My meal came with curry devil chicken which was a nice change from the usual chicken rendang or chicken curry. The rice had the right amount of lemak and I had little anchovies, peanuts, curry long beans and hard boil egg as sides. I would say that it was worth its price (somewhere between RM15-RM17).

SEED Cafe-2

Baby ordered their Cajun Chicken Chop (somewhere between RM15-RM17) which came with potato wedges and salad. I tasted a little of it and the chicken was quite normal. Their cajun sauce didnt taste like cajun at all but more like sweet and sour dip with a hint of chili.

Smoking Hot Leatherettes & Sleek Jumpsuits

topshop-1

Something I've got to share. This came in my email moments ago and I was taken away by Topshop's latest arrival! Ultra smoking hot leather pieces! Boots! Jackets! Matching Bags and Body hugging leather dresses!

topshop-2

Taking the heat lower, but classier, they have a range of sleek formal jumpsuits! I love-E jumpsuits because they are flattering to the body! Add a slim diamond studded belt to complete the look! My favourite piece would be the bustier tube jumpsuit in black. I can just imagine, pull up my locks into a high bun, put on some chunky necklace, pair with a gorgeous dinner clutch and Im all set for the night!

The Review of Letters to Juliet

letters-to-juliet-poster-0

Letters to Juliet is a 2010 American romantic comedy film starring Amanda Seyfried, Chris Egan, Vanessa Redgrave, Gael García Bernal, and Franco Nero. Directed by Gary Winick, the film was released theatrically in North America and other countries on May 14, 2010. - taken from Wikipedia

It is a whole story about "What if you had a second chance to find true love?".

Sophie Hall (Amanda Seyfried) is a fact checker at The New Yorker magazine who dreams of becoming a writer, went on e pre-honeymoon trip with her fiance to Verona, Italy. Sophie goes sightseeing and comes across the house where Juliet Capulet supposedly lived and watches in awe as numerous people gather to write letters to Juliet about their loves and post them on Juliet's Wall. Her journey starts when she followed one of Juliet's secretaries back to their Headquarters and vonluntered herself to be one of them and began replying on of the letters she collected from Juliet's wall..

What I love about the show is that it's such a romantic cliche chick flick. The fact that it's always a girl liking a guy she couldnt have and then losing the guy and misunderstanding him and then found out what happened and have a happy life together, the end. I also love the note that she wrote back to Clair (the old lady who was looking for her long lost love). It was so touching..(only that part) and the fact that I get to see Christopher Egan's charming face. I was sight seeing more of Italy than watching the film. The place is beautiful! One day, I am going to go there and spend at least more than a week exploring the romantic city!

DF-05352

Despite hearing that my friends cried watching this show, I did not seem to find this movie touching at all. Probably I am not as emotional as some of the girls I know or because I prefer mature romantic films like P.S I Love You or The Notebook (I am old like that!), but I probably didn't enjoy the film that much because I am not a fan of Amanda Seyfried. She always had the same role, as in Dear John as well and I found Dear John to be rather boring. However, Channing Tatum is so damn HOT! Anyway, what I didn't like about this movie is the fact that Christopher Egan had a British accent. Somehow I just found it so funny because it reminded me of the baby character in Family Guy! Get what I mean? It's hilarious! I preferred it when he acted in that King show series. He was much sexier there.

What to expect? A very subtle chick love story. Nothing you've never seen. You probably know how it ends from the start. Come to think of it, that was exactly what one of my friends told me!

Celebration of Amazing Skin with Vaseline Party

Vaseline-3

Last Saturday, I attended Vaseline's Poolside party at Luna Bar, Pacific Regency Hotel. I was invited by Nuffnang as I was one of the lucky 75 bloggers to be picked and I was excited! Vaseline = tonz of moisturizing goodies! and I brought baby along because I get to bring a partner.

Vaseline-5

The dress code was "cocktail party" and bloggers are to attend the event in either pink, cream, white or green (Vaseline's lotion signature colors) and I went in my pretty Bebe inspired pink dress that I bought from Rara Black. Baby wore a smart collared striped shirt in white and casual jeans.

Vaseline-4

We were there at 5.30pm and were given our passes, goodie bag (so many Vaseline lotion bottles!) and a card each. I gave mine a glance and it was written Bella Swann while baby's was Zac Efron. So I was wondering what were they up to, giving us these cards but I was pretty pleased because I love Bella in Twilight.

We chilled by the corner for a while, taking in the breathtaking view of Kuala Lumpur from where we sat. The Petronas Twin Towers were so close, and it was so beautifully lit up at night! Soon enough the event began with Jojo Struys as the MC for the night.

Vaseline-6

I later found out what the cards with celebrity names were for. Jojo mentioned that we were suppose to find our "other" partner so that the lucky partner that they call, will win free Topshop and Heavenly Spa vouchers worth more than RM500! I was Bella Swann and I had to find my other partner, which I did not even try to look for because a guy with the card Jacob Black walked pass me but I did not call out to him. Instead I was wondering if I should wait for "Edward Cullen" instead, LOL! There were so many girls, frantically looking for their "other" half and I was amazed when they looked so sad trying to find one another! It was as if they were lost without their partners. I was laughing inside, really! It was after all just a game, ladies! No need to stress over finding your David Beckham. So anyway, baby didn't find his Vanessa Hudgens either. Either way, our "names" weren't called out because the lucky partner that won those vouchers were Barrack Obama & Michelle Obama (if I remembered correctly).

Vaseline-1

We enjoyed abit of comedy from ... ooops! I forgot his name but apparently he is new and cheap and graduated from a Comedian Academy (serious shit?!) in China. His jokes were more of races, mostly about Chinese & Indians and more about how Malaysians speak. Buffet was served shortly after, followed by a performance by Yuna. I've not heard such a good voice singing right in front of my face before, and I was mesmerized by her. She is this petite little girl and her voice is so amazing! Her style of singing is exactly like Lenka, except that Yuna sings songs in Malay and English.

We stayed until the very end, until the last prizes were given to the winner of Vaseline's blogging post entry. I checked out her blog and she definitely deserved to be the winner because she put way too much effort for one competition. I'd say very creative as well! You can check out her post here : (http://www.bedtimestorie.com/2010/09/moist.html)

I was a little disappointed that I didnt bag anything home. Not even the consolation prize but on the brighter side, I have 4 more bottles of Vaseline lotion to last me another 4 years! Nah, just kidding :D Gonna give em away to bunny. She wants her dose of lotions! Hahahahahaa. Both Baby and I enjoyed our night very much. Food wasn't that good but I loveeeeeeeeeeee those marshmallows dipped in hot chocolate so much that I went two rounds! Thanks Nuffnang & Vaseline for the invites!

Creme Brulee Macchiato @ Starbucks

46329_439672777755_751202755_5443569_4576509_n

Over the weekend, I had this! Freshly made for me by the lovely lady behind the counter at my usual Sunday hangout spot, Starbucks.

I loveeEe Creme Brulee! Caramelishly sweetening :D Truthfully, I actually find Creme Brulee quite rare amongst cafes or restaurants. Usually I'll only come across Creme Brulee at hotel buffets and I hardly get to go to buffets! :( cos they are way out of my budget.

So Starbucks came out with a new drink, which is the one I had over the weekend. Creme Brulee Macchiato! What do I think about it? Hmmm, hard to say really because the first 3 sips were totally different from one another. 1st, it was more like chocolate. 2nd was like, cough syrup because of the sweetness and 3rd was more like, weird! I've no idea how to explain the 3rd taste because I kind of forgot how it tasted like.

If you are a fan of sweet drinks with a mixture of cough syrup, you should try this. Not to say that it's bad, but I would rather drink my usual Cappuccino. Taste more normal on a Sunday afternoon.

I tried the hot one, probably the cold one isnt as bad :D

My verdict : Taste like chocolate pudding ~~
