Bangkok Wasabe @ Kota Damansara

Along the second last row of Kota Damansara lies Bangkok Wasabe, an authentic Thai food restaurant which also serves Japanese Food, hence the second name of it's restaurant name, Wasabe (what a mouthful!).

Yesterday, at 230pm the fiance and I made our way to Kota Damansara to get our final bathroom accessories from Houz Depot and before we did that, we decided to have our lunch around the area as we did not want to visit Old Town for the 4th time for convenient sake as it was right next to Houz Depot.

The fiance suggested this really good Thai place that he has been to with his colleagues at Kota Damansara. Problem was, he forgot where and what the name of the restaurant was. So we rounded the place a couple of times and after (counts) 4-5 times of rounding the area, we found it situated in the middle of the second last row of Dataran Sunway. (I'll provide you with the address later, dont freak!)

So anyways, we finally got a parking and made our way into the restaurant.

Bangkok-Wasabe-2

A very lovely place. Quiet, simple yet thai-ish, nicely decorated and love the lamps they used (because we have them too!). Sorry, pictures are a bit blur because I was using my phone.

We went for their simple dishes, which probably cannot go wrong because we were starving as it was already 3pm once we settled down.

Bangkok-Wasabe-6
I had Thai Fried Rice with a sunny side up @ RM9

It was actually quite pleasant. There wasn't anything I dislike about it. Certainly tasted not bad, not that great either but .. like I said, it was pleasant. Just wished they could add little cutlets of chicken instead of giving me just 2pcs of prawns and squids each which I had to stinge on while trying to finish my rice.

Bangkok-Wasabe-5
The fiance had Crab Meat Fried Rice with a sunny side up @ RM9

I tried a spoonful of it and it was .. pleasant as well but he enjoyed it. Said they were very generous with their portion as it filled him up.

Taste aside, their prices are very reasonable compared to Flying Chillies, Amarin Thai, Good Evening Bangkok and some of the places I've tried. Apparently when the fiance came with his colleagues, they ordered a number of dishes to share and the tom yum soup was superb.

I'll definitely go back to try more of their dishes.

Project No. 4.03 Reno (Day 32)

The last post on my house renovation was Day 16 and today marks Day 32. It is still not done. Sigh maximus ~

I've literally given up hope for it to be completed by a certain date and just go with the flow. It was "supposed" to be done 2 weeks ago but then the contractor promised another week and another week and so forth. If the house isn't done by end of this month, I am so going to flip. Full stop.

Checked on the house progress yesterday like every other night and the difference between the night before yesterday and yesterday, the lights are installed! Therefore, now you know why I was waiting for the longest time to snap pictures to blog about the progress. So anyway, I was a happy girl yesterday when I switched on all the lights in the house. It was as if they are my children and they made me proud by being able to give light to the house. smiles ~

Light Day 31
This is one corner, the fiance and i are most proud of. Spotlights for the doorway. Gorgeous Maximus!

Dining Day 31
IKEA FOTO Ceiling Lamps for dining area put to great use now that they are not left on the couch but up on the ceiling shining down upon the dining table!! Priced at RM69/pc. Needs to be lower though.

Kitchen Day 31
Left side of the kitchen. That is where the stove will go. Far from done!

Door Day 31
Our kitchen sliding door. Finally arrived after 31 days..sigh! but a beauty nonetheless :)

So that's about it. Loving the whole feel of our house now. Soon, it'll be habitable. LOL!

StyleKandi | Collective Inspiration

StyleKandi, the next generation of style, inspiration and trend setting.

StyleKandi-8

StyleKandi, a project of Antics Media Sdn Bhd had its sneak preview media launch on 16th March 2011 at Desire, Heritage Row and I was there to witness the all new inspiring and stylish beginning of an upcoming top Malaysian Social Platform where users are to ignite trends or share style and fashion tips with one another.

StyleKandi-2

Upon reaching the venue, I was escorted to the registration table to obtain my media pass. Along with it, I was also given a goodie bag packed with sweets (Kandi!), Roxy discount voucher, a colorful Roxy tag and a press kit.

StyleKandi-5

I brought along my ex colleague, Denka as I was allowed to bring a guest and she was free that night so she decided to attend the event too! Plus I didn't see her for ages, it was a great opportunity to catch up and enjoy ourselves at the event.

StyleKandi-7

Together with a few members of Malaysia's Hottest Bloggers, I made my way into Desire towards a table that was reserved for us. Shortly after, Ariff AB, an upcoming Malaysian singer, took the stage, serenading us with two of his own songs to officially start the night.

StyleKandi-4

StyleKandi was then introduced by Mark Wills, Managing Director of Antics Media. With alot of explanation and slide shows, ..

StyleKandi-11

StyleKandi is a platform that allows users to discover new trends and fashion. Here is a chance to be part of or even start the next big thing.

The site will profoundly promote related blog content from around the region to become almanac for all things stylish and new. The tagline 'Collective Inspiration' serves as an all-encompassing summary of the project, encouraging people to inspire and be inspired alike.

How can one inspire another?
A user can upload their blog posts, share their pictures, post their Flickr photos or even synchronize from their preferred social networking sites to share with the community instantly. Whether designers, bloggers, or just someone proud of their new sneakers, users watch as their style catches fire and inspires the community.

StyleKandi-14
StyleKandi's Official Site!

StyleKandi-15
Sign up as a user like how I did. Instead of registering, you can link it via Facebook and voila! You are part of StyleKandi! :D

StyleKandi-16
Upload a picture of your choice. You can pick albums from other social networks such as Blogger, Facebook, Flickr and post! Easy as popping a peanut!

With StyleKandi, the users are firmly in control. Bloggers can extend their influence and gain greater exposure by linking their blog to StyleKandi, and everyone can share their ideas and inspiration with people from around the world. StyleKandi uses the sophisticated algorithm to determine how 'cool' a post or look is. Users can show their love for a certain style, and the community will eventually determine its popularity.

StyleKandi is due to fully launch early 2nd quater of year 2011 and is expected to reach all of Asia by year end. "This is a very exciting time for Malaysia as this is an opportunity to put the country on the map when it comes to the creation of an innovative Social Networking site," expressed Mark Wills.

StyleKandi-10

Towards the end of the show, a girl waved at me and called out my name. I was at lost for words because I certainly did not recognize her but after a while, it all came back to me! Nicholle (right), one of my ex colleagues was there too as a guest of Jessica (left) , a member of Malaysia's Hottest Bloggers. Talk about what a small world this is! Or rather, small Kuala Lumpur.

And to end the night, models from Amber Chia Academy did a fashion show on the runway to highlight the latest Roxy Summer & Swimwear collection, Quiksilver collection, Roxy and Quiksilver watches.

Wanna know what being a hamster feels like?

Earlier today, I had an awesome time with the fiance, bunny and chris at the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta at Putrajaya.

It was drizzling when we reached the venue at 3pm. There were so many things going on that we did not know where to even begin. So, we walked aimlessly towards the crowd of people with our umbrellas and it wasn't a very pleasant walk. The roads were muddy and there were big puddles of water everywhere we wanted to step on.

As we were approaching the Hot Air Balloon section, we saw the sign that the balloons will be released into the air at 6pm so we had a long way to go. The extreme section was just down the hill from where we were standing, so we decided to check that out.

Hot-Air-Balloon-11-4
There were a few interesting activities that we came across but we decided to give this one a try because bunny was jumping up and down wanting to be a hamster for a few minutes of her bunny life. We got ourselves tickets for the Waterball ride and it was priced at RM20/ball with maximum 2 person/ball.

I didn't want to try it at first because the Waterball was actually a giant rubber ball thing, and we got to be inside and depend our lives on the durability of the rubber ball in the middle of the lake. Two reasons I was not convinced that it is safe. First, I can't swim so if anything happens, I will be trap inside a deflating ball in the middle of the lake. Second, I don't like the fact that I am inside something closed. Can you imagine yourself trapped inside a box or a transparent ball like a hamster? No, right.

Hot-Air-Balloon-11-1
So anyways, I told myself that it couldn't be that bad because people were having fun in that ball. Even an American chick was telling me how great it was despite she got a little dirty as she had to land on where her feet once was which was a little muddy. I gave it a shot and I can say that given any chances, I will never look back and say that I regretted giving it a shot because it was the best Hamster experience I've ever had.

Seriously it was the coolest thing on earth! The fiance and I were fascinated by how cool and fun it was. It is as if you are floating above water, how odd. If you were to go alone into that ball and float on the water all by yourself, trust me, it will be no fun at all. If you do give it a try, try it with a partner and roll it as much as you can and cause your partner to do cartwheels inside the ball. You'll probably have so much fun you don't want it to end. That was how I felt when it was times up! All we had was 5mins because there was only so much air it could store for us in that ball.

Hot-Air-Balloon-11-6
Well, today was something different as I experienced hamster life in a hamster orb for 5 mins and I would love to be a hamster again just for the experience!

Hot-Air-Balloon-11-3
Just by the lighthouse, we came across a familiar odour of animal shit and that was when I caught a glimpse of a few horses, so we made our way there. Being hamster for 5 mins just wasn't enough for bunny because at the sight of the horses, she wanted to feel what a real human would feel like riding a horse. So to be able to experience that, she went onto the back of a horse just like how a normal human would and had the time of her life for another 5 mins!

Hot-Air-Balloon-11-2
We then chilled in a cafe nearby, hoping that the drizzle will stop so that we could ride the paddle boat and catch the balloons at 6pm but the rain didn't stop and it was unlikely that they will have the balloons up today so we made our way back home.

All in all, it was a lovely day spent with lovely people :D

I would love to wear green today.. but..

I don't have any green pieces in my wardrobe. So instead of looking high and low just to dress up in green, snap a photo of myself for you guys, I would love to have this post in GREEN!

I usually don't have time to blog on Thursdays because what usually happen is that I wake up really early to visit my suppliers, take in some new pieces, replenish some old ones, photo shoot myself for the upcoming collection, chill for a while, start with packing pieces into designated parcels for tomorrow's postage, rest a bit, have dinner, then edit this afternoon's photos, think of names and... most of the time, I'll continue the next day. However, today I stopped at "rest a bit before having dinner", to dedicate this post to Patrick. Simply because it is his day.

I didn't know what was St Patrick's Day all about except that there's something green in it and it's an Irish culture. Well, thanks to Angela, St Patrick's Day came about when once upon a time, "Saint Patrick got rid of all the snakes in Ireland..so definitely a celebration because snakes are horrible! A small little celebration became a huge one because of the Irish Famine where majority of the Irish moved out of Ireland to US, UK and Australia. The biggest St Paddy's Day parade is held in Chicago where they even turn their river green and serve green beer!!!!"

How interesting! Green river and green beer aren't something you see everyday. Before today, I didn't even know there's such a celebration so to those who just read this and learned something new, I would like to applaud myself for passing this knowledge on and enlightening those who did not know what St Patrick's Day is all about but if I was the only one who didn't know the meaning of today, .. well, I guess somewhat it is good that I know lah! At least when people ask me, I can answer! LOL

1268796531_1600x818_happy-st-patrick-s-day-wallpapers

So HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY people! To the people in Chicago, may you have a great green day drinking green beer looking at the green river!

ps : not my fault if you can't read my post in green. blame Patrick!
