Don't Sleep Too Much - It Might Kill You

Well, it was a 3 days weekend here in Malaysia with Friday being Hari Raya Qurban. We decided to take a drive up to Genting on Friday but we kinda slept in as the night before, we played L4D 2 till about 3am. So Friday, we got up about 3pm and decided that Genting could do without us for the day.

Saturday came by and we got up pretty late as well at about 2pm because the night before, electricity was cut off at about 2-3am according to baby and it went on till about 6am. Wanted to catch a movie and probably do something with our weekend but we were just too damn lazy. Got to Midvalley for a while just cause baby's house didnt have electricity. Walked about and all, didnt really have the mood to do anything else.

The thing about getting too little sleep the past few nights have been making my head go crazy every afternoon. I've been having headaches now even if I sleep more than I need, and Ill get them also when I sleep less than I need. So these past few days that we've been off, I've been sleeping for about 12hours or more and today, which is a Sunday, I think I've probably slept the whole freaking day.

I woke up at bout 2.30pm and then went out at 4pm for lunch. Came back, my headache strike again, so I pop 2 panadols and rested on bed. Before I knew it, I slept. It is amazing how I can sleep, really. I woke up at 8pm! So in total I actually slept like 16 hours or more, I cannot recall. Baby told me that sleeping too much wont be good for health. However, sleeping too little also wont be good for health. Too me, sleeping more than I need seems better than sleeping less than I need. So I decided to go search online about sleeping too much, if there's something bad about it and too my horror, the effect is worse than sleeping too little! Read it here.

Apparently sleeping too much is double the effect of sleeping too little. Researchers are still researching on the effect of sleeping too much but most definitely proven is that sleeping too little will cause cardiovascular problems. Recently a 45year old guy died of sleeping less than 7hours a day. Cause of death was heart attack. Healthy and strong, but died just like that. So, if sleeping too much has a double effect of sleeping too little, am I gona die like...soon? Oh Gosh! But what will I do without my 12hours of sleep. I've been living my life, sleeping as I wish and waking up when my body wakes up. It's better to be safe than sorry I guess. Oh man!

These infos were taken out of the linked above. Something we should all take note of :

Medical Problems Linked to Oversleeping

Diabetes.
In a study of almost 9,000 Americans, researchers found a relationship between sleep and the risk of diabetes. People who slept more than nine hours each night had a 50% greater risk of diabetes than people who slept seven hours per night. This increased risk was also seen in people who slept less than five hours per night. The researchers did not draw conclusions about the physiological link between long sleep and diabetes. But they did suggest that oversleeping could be indicative of underlying medical problems that increase the likelihood of diabetes.

Obesity. Sleeping too much could make you weigh too much, as well. One recent study showed that people who slept for nine or 10 hours every night were 21% more likely to become obese over a six-year period than were people who slept between seven and eight hours. This association between sleep and obesity remained the same even when food intake and exercise were taken into account.

Headaches. For some people prone to headaches, sleeping longer than usual on a weekend or vacation can cause head pain. Researchers believe this is due to the effect oversleeping has on certain neurotransmitters in the brain, including serotonin. People who sleep too much during the day and disrupt their nighttime sleep may also find themselves suffering from headaches in the morning.

Back pain. There was a time when doctors told people suffering from back pain to head straight to bed. But those days are long gone. You do need to curtail your regular exercise program when you are experiencing back pain. But doctors now realize the health benefits of maintaining a certain level of activity. And they recommend against sleeping more than usual, when possible.

Depression. Although insomnia is more commonly linked to depression than oversleeping, roughly 15% of people with depression sleep too much. This may in turn make their depression worse. That's because regular sleep habits are important to the recovery process. Need another reason not to overdo the ZZZs when you're blue? In certain instances, sleep deprivation can be an effective treatment for depression.

Heart disease. The Nurses' Health Study involved nearly 72,000 women. A careful analysis of the data from that study showed that women who slept nine to 11 hours per night were 38% more likely to have coronary heart disease than women who slept eight hours. Researchers have not yet identified a reason for the connection between oversleeping and heart disease.

Death. Multiple studies have found that people who sleep nine or more hours a night have significantly higher death rates than people sleeping seven to eight hours a night. No specific reason for this correlation has been determined. But researchers found that depression and low socioeconomic status are also associated with longer sleep. They speculate these factors could be related to the observed increase in mortality for people who sleep too much.

I is going Genting tomorrow..

Just to get away from the huss and buss of city life. Too much pollution causes my kepala to pecah today. I've been having such bad headaches for 2 days in a row and I am abit worried. It is probably due to lack of sleep the past 2 days. Been shooting zombies two nights in a row. Today, it felt like my head was gona crack open for good.

Anyways, baby has gotten the package sent from Laura! I am so damn excited to go home and tear it apart. Togas togas togas, LOVE EM ALL!!

As for tomorrow, I cant wait! We're planning to go up, more or less the same routine as our previous visit to the place. Grab lunch, walk around, amuse ourselves, and before we end the visit, a cup of nice warm coffee at Starbucks and this time, I will be sipping my favourite Toffee Nut Latte. Yummy!

our previous trip to genting during july 09

I actually realise that coffee causes me to get headaches, especially when I drink Nescafe. The usual coffee I drink is from Old Town instant white coffee, and recently been drinking Toffee Nut Latte - probably the culprit to my headaches.

I'ma Black Sista, babeh!

This might be weird to you but Im a girl who loves to play games at cyber cafes. Not those diner dash, rpg games but AWESOME 1st person shooting game! So the hype died down when our L4d group finished all the maps and the game was long forgotten, up until yesterday and all hell broke loose when we heard that L4d 2 is now available to play! with even better gameplay and 3 more wicked infected zombies to fight off.

l4d2

As usual, I got the girl. I didnt really like the fact that the girl is .. black (damn racist, I know!) but I didnt have a choice really. So I wanted a strong name for her and well, as you already know, I am Black Sista, babeh!

I carry machine guns and twin pistols with me. Ocassionally if I am lucky, I'll have a Health pack strap behind my back for emergencies or to help the guys. Sometimes I'll remember to use my acidict bio bomb thingie, or maybe the pipe bomb.

This time there were more to play with. Melee weapons such as Katana, Parang, Axe and Chainsaw were available throughout the path of the maps. New infected zombies to stay away from were the Charger, Rider, and Spitter, along with the old ones, Tank, Hunter, Boomer and Smoker. The only one which creeps me the most is when I turn around and Spitter is right at my face. IT has a nasty face, believe me. Tall and lanky, face split into two, arms like twigs. Downright Nasty.

We played till 2am yesterday, failed to finish the entire Departmental Store map. It was pretty frustrating because this time, with harder courses, players were no longer made to wait for rescue and defend themselves but to make an escape themselves with items given instead. So for the last stage of the Departmental Store map, players have to escape with a display car which has to be filled with at least 12 gallons of petrol. Petrol bottles can be found all over a 3-4 storey shopping mall and while finding them and going all the way back down to fill the car one by one with the petrol bottles, players must defend themselves from hundreds of zombies + 6 infected zombies and 1 huge ass tank with limited health packs and a place with nothing to shield from these creatures.

Anyway, the game must go on TONIGHT! and I am extremely excited and itchy fingers to play. GAME ON man!

Now Aren't These Pieces to Go Gaga Over?

Wedding Gowns I'd Like to Wear for My Wedding

Here are some of the wedding gowns which I found surfing through the web a moment ago. With the wedding being 1year and 5months away, I am guessing I have tonz of time to search through every shopping mall and bridal house for the perfect dress. The thing is, I am not that sure what I would like to wear on my wedding day. No specific detail, No specific design, No specific shape. I guess what I got to do is just look through plenty of wedding gown photos and wait for something to hit me with "That's The One".

To make or buy off the shelves, Not sure. I know if I specially tailor make my dress, it would be so much more special. Buying off the shelves, saves the moolah and there's a chance for me to wear it again on other ocassion.

So here are some of the dresses which I thought really nice.

Some dresses I picked out from the lot for the Church Wedding.

I absolutely love this, especially the back where it drops down to v shape. I have a thing for mermaid dresses, totally gorgeous and just look at the lace finishing. What I love bout this dress is it is subtle, stunningly gorgeous and it is something I would love to get comfortable in.

I love the bust area of this dress and the little flower brooch on the one shoulder strap. I thought of getting a tube shape dress for the Church Wedding, whereas for the dinner, I'll probably settle in for a toga shape dress. However, when I saw this I really like it, except that the bottom is too big for me. Church will be hot and I dont really wanna get all irritated by the fact that I am sweating like a pig inside my 101 layer dress. Maybe for photoshoot then.

OUuuhhhhh I love this! It is sooooooo elegant to me. Simple and Elegant. Something I had in mind. Love that pin up on the hips and ruch dresses usually hides all the extra chunks of meat.

And so these are for the Dinner Reception.

When I saw this, yes, in BLACK, I was in love with it. But I think there's an extremely high chance that my mom will make my planning for the wedding a living nightmare if I wear anything Black for my wedding. Not to mention, even for the Engagement Dinner she had plenty to say about my Black Dress that I wore.

I am not too fond of halters, even for normal tops, I usually choose not to get myself halters because they actually make my back ache. I asked others who normally wear halters and they seemed fine with them. So I guess its just me but, this dress is really nice.

Well, if my Wedding Dinner Reception is gona be in a garden (I hope), I would probably wear this =D Looks super comfy and so goddess like!

Same for this though. And the best thing is I can wear it again and again after that!

Yes? No? Yes? No?

Nova-2

You know, I absolutely love Bustier + Tulip cut dresses. When I saw this, I fell deeply in love with it. Nova is such a sexy dress. Why am I even contemplating whether I should take it for myself? Well, where will I wear it to? Not to say I attend events everyday. Not to say I club every weekend. Not to say I have any special ocassion coming up. I already have tonz of dresses I've not worn yet. So what reason should I give myself to take this and place it in my cupboard? I can probably wear it for New Year's eve clubbing. MOS babeh! or I can just keep it cos I love it eventhough I know I might not wear it?

Montage-5

and then there's this Montage leggings. Also fell in love at first sight. Very funky and unique. So why should I contemplate again since I love it so much? Because baby said, "you wont wear it wan lah". Got me thinking, if I take it and not wear it, then I shouldnt keep it cos then it would be a waste right? If I do keep it, then it will only add to my mountain pile of clothes which is about to tople over? Sigh...

Aliens Are More Human Than You Think

International 1-Sheet

We tried for 2012 again during the weekend but, as usual tickets were all SOLD OUT, again!! Can you freaking bliv it? 2 weeks in a row, and no tickets available. I heard that its OK OK only lah but I still wanna watch! I just wanna see how the world is gona end. LOL.

Anyways, instead of getting 2012, we went for Planet 51. Never heard of right. Yea, same here. We saw it listed on the showtime when we logged onto GSC. Watched the trailer and wikipedia-ed the show. I was abit skeptical because I asked baby if the cartoon is from Disney Pixar or Warner, but none instead its by Sony Pictures and some name I've never heard of. Anyhow, we bought the 8pm show.

Cartoon was..OK OK oni lah. Made me laugh bout 2-4 seconds and that was it. Story was pretty interesting but nowhere near cartoons by Pixar. Sigh. Was really disappointed when we came out of the movies, everything in Midvalley was either closing or closed when it was only 930pm.

Ah well.. at least I watched something!

I've decided!

to buy this colour..

e72

Here you see it silver. In real life the colour is Gun Metal and it is absolutely gorgeous.

Last Sunday, we went to The Curve at about 7pm after his football because I needed to go out of the house since we didnt on Saturday. Instead of our usual Midvalley, we went to The Curve cos a while before we decided, I saw IKEA's kithcen brochure and it had Christmas deco all over. Since I havent been to IKEA for quite some time, we decided to head over to check out what's new.

IKEA is as superb as always. Laura was there too, read her blog but sad to say, we didnt bump into each other. She managed to catch 2012 which I wanted to since it came out but there is just no damn ticket available to be purchased. So we walked abit around The Curve and Ikano, ate at Fridays and just before we left which was about 10pm, I dragged us both into Nokia to see the real E72.

They presented me with the Black and I absolutely disliked it. Plain BORING. I asked for the Champagne, they said it wasnt available yet. What about the Silver? Oh it was SOLD OUT. WOW, what a seller.

So the next day, I had to take MC because I had trouble sleeping the past few nights due to my severe cough which only happens when I decide to sleep. Doctor said that my airways might be blocked and because my cough lasted a week, my ribs were affected. So whenever I cough, it hammers my ribs which is quite painful. We then took a drive down to Midvalley to see if the tickets for 2012 are available to purchase, and sadly, they werent available. ALL SOLD OUT again. Even on a working day during working hours. So I dragged both of us to Nokia again to see if they had the Champagne but they presented me with the one with Gun Metal colour instead. So I asked what colour is this? Then the promoter said it is grey. I asked if they have the colours shown on the website, and he said that this grey one is the silver one that I saw on the website. I was so surprised because when I see the silver one on the website, I didnt like it at all. Didnt even crossed my mind to give it a second thought. Now, I love it and I wanna get it. When I've gotten it, I'll snap pics of it and you can judge by yourself!

Cant wait!!

Brain Dead & Gloomy Skies

Im literally stonning in the office now. Just had my cough syrup a while ago, so I guess that's why. I hate this feeling of not being able to sleep when I feel sleepy. My brain isnt working properly at the moment. You know how it is when you step on the acclerate paddle and your car takes a moment to gather what it is suppose to do and then lurch forward like it suddenly understood what you wanted it to do? Yea, something like that.

So here I am at the office, still feeling quite sorry for myself because of what I came to realise yesterday. That things wont be going as according to plan even though everything is going by pretty as predicted. I felt like I am living in denial that everything will happen the way I want it to and how I visualise them to be.

I needed to just cry and let it all out, so I did. I thought it might make me feel better but it didnt. So I guess I'll just brush it off as days pass by.

rain drops keep falling on my head..ding dong

On a another sad note, the sky seems to be feeling the same way I do. It seems to be raining quite often towards the end of the year. I thought each year usually ends with the weather being extremely hot. Sometimes I find ourselves to be in deep shit and that nobody knows it because the weather seems to be reacting unusually rather often. I hope the world wont come to an end when I am still alive.

Nothing much to update.. just a brief one to keep myself occupied as I wait for the whole magazine I am working on at work to be printed. Printer seems to be slowing down too. Sigh. My colleague just broke up with his gf because his gf said she doesnt feel anything for him anymore. What a bummer the day seems to be.

I feel like crying..

I feel like crying.. I just feel like crying.
I feel like crying cos I feel like I am carrying the world on my shoulders
Cos I feel like I am the only person who have not taken myself for granted.
and I feel that I have put on a shield for far too long and to tell myself that everything is going to be fine.
So today, the shield is off and I am feeling like the world is falling apart.
and that I dont know what to do because I've done almost all I can do.
And it is still falling apart..

Montagne Jeunesse

Up till this very day, I have no idea how to pronounce Montagne Jeunesse.

I first came across these interesting colourful shaped packets on a stand in Guardian. Looking closer, they are a bunch of beautifiers. Mask, Detox sheets, Hair Care, Eye Pore strips and so many more. Montagne Jeunesse carries pampering top to toe beauty products all the way from United Kingdom.

I'm sort of a sucker for stuff like these, especially when they are presented in a unique way. Plus, it was Buy 1 and get the 2nd at 50% off. Why not? Since 1 pack is like RM5.60 and the second is only at RM2.30.

So I got myself 2 packs to try and I instantly love love them both!

My first try was Peach Kernel & Walnut Exfoliating Masque (Classic Range).

Description: Packed with gentle exfoliating beads your skin is simply left silk soft and cleansed. The masque feels so glossy and creamy on your fingertips, lavishly apply and enjoy the subtle smell of peaches that give you a surprising perk! When you wash the masque off the silky water in your hands smells beautiful and this lingers on your skin for a while.

My experience : In the beginning, I expected it to be like any normal mask. Open pack, take the peel off and splat it on my face. But how wrong I was.

Once I opened the pack, I was greeted by the smell of peach. It smelt so tasty that I wanted to put it in my mouth (that was what almost happened to another one). The texture of the mask is more like, thick oozing cream loaded with exfoliating beads.

Note : 1 pack can be used twice as there's more than enough provided. So squeeze half onto palm and seal the rest back for future.

I didn't need to wash my face before I apply it, as instructed by the pack. Just massage it onto my face, gently scrub every inch of my face until I was satisfied and leave it on for a max of 15mins. Wash off with luke warm water as advised but I washed it off with plain tap water. Pat face dry and felt the moist on my face was enough to put a smile onto my face. It removed all my dead skin and I felt completely refreshed.

My next experiment was with Strawberry Soufflé Masque (New Range).

Description: Cleanse with our new Strawberry Soufflé Masque as part of your regime for a purified, toned smooth complexion. Loaded with natural goodness which leaves skin hydrated & refreshed allow your skin to breathe with soothing Aloe Vera & calming Vanilla.

Experience the sensation of sheer Strawberry delight and enjoy deep cleansed, healthier skin.

My experience : This was more of a hydrating mask. It was really rich with strawberries, not that I can see but the feeling of it when I applied gently on my face was extremely relaxing. It was as though I could feel my face munching on strawberries. I first used the exfoliating mask to wash off dirt on my face plus disposing of dead skin cells and cleaning up my pores. After a week later, I used this to hydrate my skin. This is absolutely pampering. When I washed the mask off my face, I felt incredible and I am not exaggerating. It is a definite a must try.

After my experiences with these two, I went back to Guardian and bought another pack of Peach Kernel & Walnut Exfoliating Masque and added 2 more packs into my purchase.

The next pack which I tried was Fudge Sauna (Fun Range).

Description: Cleansing has never been so easy with our gorgeous Self Heating Vanilla Fudge Sauna. Absorb the sweet aroma, sit back and relax as the heavenly formula opens pores and deep cleanses, leaving your skin so clean it glows.

My experience : WOW! When I first poured it onto my palm, I was quite disappointed because of the amount given. The previous two was more than I could use a single time, but this was half the amount of the previous two. So I poured everything onto my palm, it felt a little warm and then applied it on my face. Once it touched my skin, it literally boiled. It felt like I was putting bearable hot chocolate souffle on my skin.

My phone rang and I almost licked my finger because it was covered with the mask that smelt so deliciously good of Chocolate Vanilla. Thank God I did not!

This is an awesome mask. The cream itself heats up the face like its in a sauna and I could see bubble of little sweat popping out from my pores. It was instant deep cleanse! After 15mins I washed it off and took a look at my face. My pores are extremely clean, I kid you not!

The other pack that I bought is Dead Sea Anti-Stress Mud Masque (Classic Range).

Description: Deeply cleanse your skin. When you tear open the sachet you are flooded with the fresh fragrances of Lavender, Sweet Seaweed & Dead Sea Minerals. Lavishly apply and relax as impurities are drawn out and blocked pores opened for a deep clean.

I have not used it yet but I am pretty sure it is as satisfying as I find the others. This mask is more for anti-stressing, so I have not find the right moment to use it yet.

Once I have, I will definitely blog about it! Definitely =D

If you are interested in trying Montagne Jeunesse, you can always visit their website : www.montagne-jeunesse-store.com for more info before you run yourself to Guardian! Have fun!

OHhh Im feelin so Evill today..

Nyahahahahahaaaa... I think some might find feeling evil is bad but I think feeling evil once in a while will do good to yourself. Balance the Yin and Yang to your personality.

Today, Im feeling so good to be feeling evil. Basically, it all started when that person I didnt like from the very beginning I met, got what was deserved, I felt over the moon! Girls are scary that way. You'll not know what's lurking behind those long black hair and puppy dog eyes.

Seriously, I am not over the top, just that sometimes I find that people would get a taste of their own medicine to feel what they've been taking forgranted. And when they do, they better know it or else they'll be in deep trouble. Especially from people like me.

This person I got to know and gave plenty of chances, is forever taking me forgranted. So this time, Im back firing this person's own medicine and I know it will definitely blow because previously I've been getting it over and over again.

It definitely made MY DAY!

URM.. I found something new

There's this new Nokia E72 newly launched just a week ago. Its actually after the E71 which I previously mentioned. So I think Im gona get this but which colour?

nokia e72
nokia e72 blk

Specs wise, this definitely beats the E71 but price wise, havent find out yet..
So tell me Black or Champagne?

Under the Weather! sobs~

So whats brand new? Nothing much as usual. Gotten sick on Monday. Slept through to 10pm then woke up wide awake and slept again at 1am until this morning 9am.

Saturday, got in some stocks. Pretty disappointed because I only manage to get a few nice stuff, and usually I get like a bunch. Well, we were rushing off to cod that's why and we were running out of time, so there was no way we could search further for nicer items.

So far this week's love has to be Floret and Astra. Absolutely love them both as Floret spells femininity and fresh all over. Plus I find the flower design really refreshing. Planning to wear it to Chris' Wedding Tea Ceremony. Oh and the bustier part, LOVE!

Floret-1

As for Astra, I am a total sucker for Grecian details. Plus, it is quite long and comfy. Definitely suitable for an everyday outfit!

Astra-4

Sunday we met Deziree and Yap for dinner at Delicious Bangsar Village 2. Both Dez and I have always wanted to try Delicious together but we were so busy and we hardly meet. We used to see each other really often last year when we participated at bazaars together but since she stopped her blogshop, we hardly ever meet. Once in a while after work and stuff, that was when she was unemployed. Now she is working for an auditing firm doing auditing stuff, she barely has time.

So anyways, we caught up pretty much the other night. Oh, the food there is delicious, lived up to their name.

I ordered Duck Confit with Spaghettini which was what I've always wanted to try. I had a taste of it previously when Adele ordered it, but trying it a year later is pretty much the same expectation. Yummy.

Baby ordered Delicious home made burger which was really good. Burger patty tasted like what you would get from a pub or bistro.

Deziree ordered Spaghetti Bolognese which was also good. Need abit of salt though but the tomato paste was really good.

Yap ordered Spicy Thai Crab Meat Spaghettini which I did not try. Apparently he said it tasted "Damn Thai lor" and that was it.

So everything was good and stuff. Nothing unusual and we gossiped a little bout the usual. It was really great catching up with her though.
